Spring has Arrived at least this Week!

Well, Spring has arrived at least by the date!

Today is the offical St. Patrick's Day, everyone will be celebrating in some form or another. I am here working today at the Concierge Desk and guests are very festive in dress. Weather it be a hat a tie, a shirt or socks. Several guests are in the mood for some Green. So, bars will be packed from lunch time to closing time and today since it is Spring Time in Chicago and the weather will be 60 degrees and Sunny. Yeah! Ok, at least sunny for the next few days. Peolpe will be taking advantage of it. I knew that this Spring thing is just a tease. It is going to rain/snow Sunday.

Anyhoot! Spring is still here and for the next few days Chicagoans and Guest a like will enjoy the 50 degree plus weather with sun shine. So, look for me on the Lake Front on my dusty old bicyle, I will be the one having a heart attack for being out of shape. But, at least I/we are outside enjoying the first great days of Spring in Chicago.

Ah, I LOVE the Lake!
Signing Off!

Ole' to the Irish*****Saint Patty's Day Weekend

What a Green Bunch of Fun this weekend will be! Chicago Loves St. Patty's Day; as they say everyone in Chicago is Irish for St. Patrick's Day. Every bar in the City has a party to attend with Green Beer and Corned Beef galore.

Starting Saturday March 13th, at 10:45am people line up along the Michigan Avenue Bridge and Wacker Street to see the Mayor in his Little Boat pour magic into the Chicago River and turn it Green. Believe it or not, it does turn a very Emerald colored green. I have only watched this event once with my Mum who was 82 years old at the time and we both were mesmerized and giddey! Quite the site! Don't miss it if you are here in the city. Then to follow is the famous Chicago 55th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, which begins at 12noon. That is were all the crazy people come out and then some not so crazy. But, most will be dressed in Green along with hats and beads and what ever else green they can find. So be sure to take in some St. Patrick's Day fun and even if you don't, just look around the city and you will see all of the characters.

Signing Off and have a Green Weekend!
