Skating in the Sky

As you might have heard, the John Hancock Building has now a skating rink on their 94th floor Observation Deck. For $5.00 on top of your entrance ticket, you can put on the skates and glide with views over Chicago. If you don't have skates, not to worry as they rent out skates for $1.00 as well.

It was quite the experience. The rink is not big but for somebody like me, who hasn't skated in a while, it is just right. The ice is not actual ice but something that is ice-like. After a few rounds, you'll manage to find your balance and maybe even try a few extra moves. The sides will break your fall if needed.

The view from the Observatory and the skating while enjoying that view is something that you simply must try. They have a nice cafe now as well which serves Lavazza coffee and an assortment of pastries. Mmmmm...

The Millennium Knickerbocker is currently offering some excellent packages for overnight accommodations including tickets for Skating in the Sky, the Hancock Observatory, Knickerbocker mugs and hot chocolate and chapsticks!!

So for your next trip, consider putting on some skates and Skate in the Sky!

Have a great week!
