Rain or Shine

Whether rain or shine, there is always something to see or do while in Chicago. This upcoming week brings both sports and culture to downtown; here are a few of them.

For first time visitors or anyone who needs a refresh, there are plenty of tours of Chicago to choose from. There are architectural boat tours from the river and/or lake, Hop on/off Double Decker and Trolley Tours, Bike Tours or even Segway Tours. Any of them will give an excellent overview of the rich and diverse history and architecture of the Windy City. For an extra dose of “Chicago”, head to the Chicago History Museum – free admission on Mondays.

Starting off the week the Chicago White Sox host the Seattle Mariners with games on Monday April 27th – Wednesday April 29th at U.S. Cellular Field. The Chicago Cubs come back to Wrigley Field against the Florida Marlins and San Francisco Giants on Thursday April 30th – Wednesday May 5th.

If culture is what you’re looking for, the Field Museum of Natural History is showing a special exhibit on “Real Pirates” which is the story of a slave ship turned into pirate ship that was discovered off the coast of the United States. And for all you Harry Potter fans, the Museum of Science and Industry has created an exhibit that gives you a first hand look at the magical world – starts on April 30th.
The lights on Broadway turn on Tuesday thru Sunday with shows such as: Jersey Boys (the story of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons), A Chorus Line, Xanadu, and Mary Poppins. For comedy, Second City has excellent sketch comedy all week long or try out Zanies for the best stand up in the city.

Our Concierge team can assist with restaurant reservations, reserve theatre and sporting event seats, set up city tours, arrange spa services, transportation and in-room flower delivery. Whatever you need, I would be happy to help make your stay more relaxing and enjoyable.
