January Week Three Update

We received some additional design information this week on the new "look and feel" of the hotel, post restoration. Designed by Jinnie Kim Design of Boston (guest rooms) and Interior Design Workshop of San Francisco (public areas), the new look of The Knickerbocker will evoke the elegance and vivacity of the 1920s and 1930s – harkening back to the hotel’s opening in 1927. Elements of Art Deco, like bold metal detailing, sweeping curves, and sleek ornamentation will heighten the Knickerbocker’s visual impact, while retro materials such as metal, lacquer, leather, stone, alligator skin and snakeskin will add depth, character and texture throughout the hotel.

What can we expect our guest experience to be like when we stay at the hotel in late February/the beginning of March? Will there be parts of the hotel closed, or should we expect construction noise early in the morning?

I am considering a stay from May 3-7. Will the renovations be complete by then?

Thanks!

In late February and early March there will be certain guest floors closed off but that should not effect your stay. The construction crews work Monday through Friday from 8am-5pm so is there is some noise during the day but not at night.

The renovations will not be entirely complete over the dates of May 3-7 but a large portion of the guest rooms will be done. There will likely be some isolated work going on in the lobby at that time.
